New Rides, New Deals - October 2025
October 2025
Righto, we’ve been MIA for a couple of months - but we’re back, charged up, and not a moment too soon. You won’t believe the barrage of new and updated EVs landing on Aussie shores - plus some wild price drops. It's gone absolute boonta!
But first, let’s talk big picture for a sec.
The Aussie Government’s just locked in new 2035 climate targets - a solid 62–70% emissions cut from 2005 levels. What’s that mean for new cars? According to the consultants behind the modelling, half of all new cars sold will need to be electric to get us anywhere close.
And the gears are already turning.
With the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) now live, we’re seeing what feels like an onslaught of new EVs roll into Aussie showrooms - from clever Chinese disruptors to premium Euro flagships. Carmakers are scrambling to hit fleet emissions targets or cop serious fines, so models once held back for Europe or the US are suddenly finding their way here.
Even better? The Feds are tipping in more coin for public charging infrastructure, helping knock down the “where the hell do I charge?” barrier. That’s a win across the board - especially for city folk and apartment dwellers who don’t have off-street parking.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence, the next six months could be the sweet spot to make the switch.
Scroll down for a quick snapshot of what's new - and what's changing.

Looking ahead
With the Government turning the screws, NVES pushing automakers harder, and a fresh round of charging investment making the headlines - we reckon we’re already seeing the real shift in the EV tide.
More options. Better prices. Easier charging. That’s the trifecta, right?
We’ll be keeping a close eye on how this plays out over the remainder of spring and into summer - especially what impact it has on local demand, supply backlogs, and resale confidence. Either way, it’s starting to feel like the golden age of EVs is finally about to kick off down under.
