zuup Charge & Charge Flex portable chargers come standard with 6m total reach, but if you need extra length, we recommend using a certified 15A or 32A extension lead from Australian-owned and operated manufacturers, Electrotraders.

These leads are designed for high-power applications and ensure safe, reliable EV charging.

Select from the links below...
- 15A Extension Lead (Charge or Charge Flex)
- 32A 3-Pin Extension Lead (Charge Flex only)

We recommend selecting the Heavy Duty cable type for better heat resistance, durability, and safe power delivery during high-current EV charging.

Charging tips

Quick tips & best practices

1. Check your power source

Before plugging in, ensure your power outlet is compatible with your zuup charger.

  • For zuup Charge and Charge Flex, make sure you’re using the correct power adapter (10A, 15A, or 32A) and adjust the charge current on the Controller accordingly.
  • Always inspect outlets for damage or wear to ensure safe charging.

2. Don’t overthink your battery

Frequent full charges aren’t necessary for most drivers. Aim to keep your battery between 20% and 80% for optimal performance and longevity. Full charges are best reserved for long road trips.

3. Position your cable smartly

Avoid trip hazards and unnecessary strain on the charging cable. Lay it out neatly and away from foot traffic, especially when charging at public stations.

4. Plan ahead for public charging

Use the zuup Charge App to monitor your charger at home, the office or on the go. And soon, with the zuup eMobility App, you’ll be able to find, charge, and pay at public charging stations across Australia - no matter the charge network. Stay tuned for launch updates!

5. Charging speeds vary

Know the difference between AC and DC charging:

  • Portable Chargers (AC): Perfect for home or overnight charging, offering steady and reliable power. AC chargers range from 2-22 kW.
  • Fast Chargers (DC): Great for quick top-ups on road trips but not always needed for daily use. DC chargers range from 25-350 kW.

6. Protect your zuup equipment

Store your chargers and cables in their premium carry cases or neatly bundled with the carry strap when not in use. This keeps them clean, organised, and ready for your next charge.

7. Optimise for Aussie conditions

zuup products are built tough for Australian weather, but it’s always good practice to avoid exposing your charger to extreme heat or prolonged rain when possible.

8. Explore charging cost savings

If charging at home, consider setting the Delay function to charge during off-peak hours for lower electricity rates. Many EVs allow you to schedule charging automatically - alternatively you can set via the zuup Charge controller or Charge App.
